The IOI 2026 excursion program has been designed to provide participants with the opportunity to explore Tashkent through a carefully selected collection of cultural, historical, and recreational destinations. Through these excursions, the rich heritage, warm hospitality, and modern spirit of Uzbekistan will be experienced, offering both an enjoyable and enriching addition to the competition program.

Important Information

The following information is provided to assist participants in preparing for the excursions and to ensure that a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience is maintained throughout the program.

Weather

During the IOI 2026 competition period (9-16 August), hot and dry summer weather is typically experienced in Tashkent. Average daytime temperatures range from 34°C to 39°C, while nighttime temperatures generally range between 20°C and 24°C. Participants are advised to wear lightweight clothing and to use appropriate sun protection during outdoor activities.

Water Bottles

Participants are kindly requested not to bring personal water bottles during the excursions, as they are not permitted at some venues. Drinking water will be provided throughout the excursion program.

Dress Code

Casual attire is suitable for most excursion activities. However, as the program includes visits to cultural and historical sites, participants are kindly requested to wear modest clothing in accordance with local customs.

Participants are advised to bring a headscarf, as it may be required at certain venues. To ensure a comfortable experience for all visitors, participants are kindly requested to avoid wearing shorts, short skirts, or revealing clothing during these visits. Please note that entry to some locations may depend on compliance with the applicable dress requirements.

Center for Islamic Civilization

The Center for Islamic Civilization is one of Uzbekistan's newest and most remarkable cultural landmarks. Officially recognized by Guinness World Records in 2026 as the largest museum of Islamic civilization in the world, it has quickly become one of the country's most visited attractions, welcoming an average of approximately 6,000 visitors every day.

Designed as a modern cultural and educational center, the museum combines striking architecture, state-of-the-art interactive exhibitions, immersive multimedia experiences, rare manuscripts, and priceless historical artifacts. These exhibitions highlight Uzbekistan's extraordinary contributions to science, culture, art, and scholarship, while celebrating the achievements of the great scholars who helped shape Islamic civilization.

During the visit, participants will have the opportunity to discover the cultural treasures and historical legacy that have made Uzbekistan an important center of learning and civilization for centuries.

Old Town

The Old Town has been designed as a cultural district reflecting the architectural traditions and artistic heritage of Uzbekistan. Constructed in the style of a traditional Uzbek neighborhood, it is characterized by beautifully crafted buildings, pedestrian streets, decorative courtyards, and artisan-inspired architecture that collectively showcase the country's rich cultural identity.

During the visit, the atmosphere of a traditional Uzbek town will be experienced through its distinctive architectural design, local craftsmanship, and welcoming public spaces. An opportunity will be provided to appreciate Uzbekistan's architectural traditions and cultural heritage in an authentic and vibrant setting.

Hazrati Hasti Imam Complex

The Hazrati Hasti Imam Complex is recognized as one of Uzbekistan's most significant historical and religious landmarks. Magic Safari Tour

Magic Safari is one of Tashkent's distinctive wildlife attractions, home to a diverse collection of animal species living in carefully designed natural-style habitats. Movie Time includes a screening at the Oʻzbekiston Milliy Kino Sanʼati Saroyi (National Cinema Palace), one of Tashkentʼs leading cinemas. The program will feature Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the latest installment in the Spider-Man film series starring Tom Holland.

A modern cinematic experience will be provided through state-of-the-art audiovisual technology and comfortable seating, offering participants an enjoyable and relaxing conclusion to the excursion program.
